Improve Your Health By Eliminating Gluten


Gluten is a protein that is found in many breads, baked goods, cereals, pastas and wheat products. Along with dairy, gluten is at the top of the list when it comes to food intolerances!

Gluten is protein that cannot be digested by the body. Due to the fact that our bodies cannot break it down, gluten can create a host of issues such as; stomach discomfort, bloating, inflammation and leaky gut. These bodily discomforts can lead to more problems like; poor concentration, sleep and the inability lose body fat!

  4. Food intolerances have been shown to downgrade thyroid hormone. This is not good if your goal is optimal body composition and fat loss.

Tips to eliminate gluten from your diet!

  1. Start by cutting out processed foods. At first it can be helpful to use some gluten-free products, but usually if its man made and comes in a box, these products will be high glycemic and not ideal for optimal body composition.

  2. Get most of your carbohydrates from fruits and vegetables. On hard workout days, consume carbs such as; sweet potatoes, brown jasmine rice, and quinoa.

  3. Supplement with glutamine, it helps to repair your intestinal wall after the abuse it takes from gluten!

  4. When using flour, get it from different sources; almond, coconut, pea, quinoa or flaxseed.

  5. Be mindful of your condiments and sauces. Many condiments use this protein as a stabilizing agent!

Eliminating this protein from you diet can only benefit you health, body composition and performance wise. With so many alternatives out there, its a no brainer!
